Fenelle had gone in search of a new Pokémon for der team, and Sailor felt it was only natural they should do the same. They lagged behind, with only three Pokémon to their name (and one of those a recent gift they hadn't decided to add to their team yet).[break][break]
They walked through the Slateport Outskirts on the lookout for something to add to their team. They tended to favour Dark, Poison and Ghost types so this place was ideal to hit two out of the three.[break][break]
As always, Obstagoon was out of his ball and following closely. Sailor had Weezing in his ball, ready for back-up if the situation called for it.

A screech to the left immediately drew Sailor's attention, and they advanced, gesturing to Obstagoon to go ahead.[break][break]
When their eyes landed on the Crobat, Sai smirked, "This must be my lucky day." A Crobat would be a phenomenal addition to their party. This Crobat was fighting with two Golbat and seemed to have the upper hand.[break][break]
Sai watched as the Crobat fended off the Golbat and then struck with confuse ray followed by cross poison. Obstagoon was itching to get involved, but Sailor signalled for him to hold back -- they wanted to know the outcome of this fight.[break][break]
It didn't take long for Sai to realise why the Crobat was fighting against these Golbat. It was hard to tell unless, say, someone had been drilled with Pokémon Biology by a private tutor (as was the case for Sailor) but it seemed to them that the Golbat were male and the Crobat was female.[break][break]
But the Crobat was presenting with Masculine traits, evident by their cry and how they were acting around these other Males. Not submissive, but trying to dominate the territory.[break][break]
Interesting.[break][break]
One Golbat went down easily and limped away, head tucked under a wing but the second held on for a moment longer. Crobat swooped down and landed a well-aimed Bite which was enough to fend the Golbat off. When the second Golbat retreated, Sai stepped forward with a Poke Ball at the ready, "Obstagoon, don't give it time to breathe. Hit Crobat with a Take Down." [break][break]
Obstagoon was more than happy to comply as he charged the Crobat. It didn't have a moment to recover or react and took the shot full-on, which caused it to be knocked out. With a scoff, Sailor tossed their poke ball at the 'mon.[break][break]
"Easy capture but perhaps I should thank those Golbat for wearing them down." Sailor nodded to Obstagoon who retreated back to their side, "Come, we have no further need to be out here." [break][break]
With that, Sai turned and headed back to Slateport proper.
